Welcome to Macro Mentors Ltd.
These Terms and Conditions (Terms) (alongside our Privacy Policy at https://www.macromentors.com/privacy-policy) apply to you (a User) when you access and use the Services (as described below) through this website (Website), either as a Mentor or Mentee, and constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us.
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing our Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms (and our Privacy Policy) and agree to be bound by them.
Our Website is only for people with 18 years old or older, so by agreeing to these Terms you affirm that you are over that minimum allowed age.
- Our Services
Our Website is an online mentorship platform designed to bring together people willing to offer (Mentors), and people willing to acquire (Mentees), any kind of knowledge, skills or experience on the most wide-ranging areas of interest – from gaining tips on how to pass on a job interview to boosting your understanding on crypto investing.
In short, Mentees will be able to browse for Mentors listed on the Website and book 1:1 sessions with them. As displayed on Mentor’s profile, different product options may be available, including one-off sessions (“individual calls”) and package sessions (“subscriptions”) (Sessions), and session length may vary as displayed on the Website.
Our browsing feature to search for Mentors’ profile will be public to all visitors of the site, irrespective of any registration with us. However, booking Sessions with Mentors will require the creation of an account with us.
DISCLAIMERS ABOUT THE SERVICES
- The Website is a venue that aims to facilitate connections between Mentors and Mentees. Our contract with you is limited solely in providing you with access to the Website and its functionalities. We are not (nor will be) a party to any contractual arrangement entered into between Mentors and Mentees, nor a service broker or agent.
- We have no control over Mentors’ or Mentees’ conduct nor responsibility for information or advice exchanged through the Website.
- We do not recommend one Mentor over another, and we do not provide advice to Mentees regarding which Mentor to select.
- All comments and reviews posted by other users of the Website do not represent our views in any way, and we do not endorse any of them.
- Whilst we endeavour good faith efforts to only engage top level Mentors, we are not able to provide any assurances that the background checks we carry out on Mentors will guarantee the absolute accuracy and correctness of information included on their profile, or of any other material or content they exchange in connection with their Sessions.
- As a Mentee, you acknowledge that you book Sessions at your own risk. We cannot be held liable if any information on a Mentor’s profile, or any material or content provided by him/ her, is misleading or incorrect.
- We can neither guarantee that a specific Mentor or topic you choose for a Session will meet your expectations. If you feel disappointed about a learning experience you’ve had via the Website, please get in touch with us and we will endeavour best efforts to get things sorted and avoid any future inconvenience.
- Modification to the Website, and these Terms
We reserve the right to alter, suspend or remove, temporarily or permanently, this Website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modifications to the Website.
We may also change these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any such changes, which will become effective once the updated version of these Terms is published on the Website. It is your responsibility to check the Website regularly for changes. Your continued use of the Website is considered as acceptance of the current or amended Terms.
- Creation of an Account
Both Mentees and Mentors will be required to register with us for the purposes of accessing and using our Services, including booking and/or offering the Sessions through the Website.
Mentees: In order to create a user account, Mentees will need to provide us with certain basic information that will be necessary for us to manage the provision of the Services on the Website. This includes first name, last name, e-mail address, LinkedIn account, languages spoken, location (city; country), as well as credit card details for payment purposes (the latter may be required in the course of you placing a booking request with one of the Mentors).
Mentors: Registration of Mentors is slightly different and heavier in terms of information requirement. Macro Mentors conducts onboarding checks (which may include interviews) to make sure that individuals applying for a Mentor’ position meet our eligibility criteria. We require all Mentors to provide us with information regarding their academic and professional background (e.g. biography, job title, name of employee, roles, expertise), which once verified and approved by us will be incorporated into a Mentor’s profile. Prior to making any Mentor’s profile public on the Website, we will pass our suggestion for Mentor’s review, and once approved, these will become live on the Website and Mentees will be enabled to book Sessions with them.
By registering with us, Mentors warrants to Macro Mentors and the Mentees that they have taken all reasonable and appropriate measures (including the obtaining of all necessary approvals where applicable) so that their engagement with Macro Mentors and the delivery of the Sessions on the Website will not breach or constitute a default under any agreement, instrument, or other restriction which binds them. This includes, for example, Mentors obtaining consent from their employers where the performance of a mentorship role through the Website would conflict with any of their employment duties and/or responsibilities. In no event shall Macro Mentors be held liable for any third-party claim arising out of, or in connection with, a failure by the Mentor to comply with this provision.
- Keeping your Account Safe and Up-to-date
You are responsible for all activity that occurs on your account. It is your responsibility (as a Mentor or a Mentee) to keep your account password secure, and not to share it with any other person (including friends or family member). We will not be held liable if any person uses the Website and the Services by way of your account, and we reserve the right to suspend or close your account if we discover that you, or someone else on your behalf (whether authorised by you or not) is using the account to engage in activities that violate these Terms.
You shall also keep information in your account accurate, complete and up-to-date. This includes, for example: (i) if you are a Mentor, your obligation to ensure that the description of your expertise and skills on your profile is clear, complete and up-to-date, and to provide us with any further information as requested by us from time to time; or (iii) if you are a Mentee, your obligation to provide correct and complete credit card details, and to update it whenever necessary.
Macro Mentors will not be held liable for any loss or damage arising under or, in connection with, your failure to comply with the abovementioned requirements.
- Session Booking Request
To book a Session, Mentees shall:
- choose a Mentor on the Website;
- select the date and time among the slots available from the chosen Mentor;
- inform in the ‘booking request’ tab what they would like to discuss in the relevant Session; and
- provide credit card details for payment purposes (if they haven’t done so yet);
(a Session Request).
By placing a Booking Request, you authorise us (or our payment processor provider, as applicable) to charge your credit card to collect the applicable fees relating to a Session.
All proposed bookings will need to be accepted by Macro Mentors before they are confirmed, and you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us (Booking Confirmation) once your Session Request has been approved, at which point (subject to the payment of the applicable fees) a binding contract will come into effect between Mentee and the relevant Mentor.
Information regarding past and upcoming Sessions will be available on your dashboard, alongside a message tool that will allow Mentors and Mentees to communicate directly either before or after a booked session.
- Changes to Bookings and Refunds
Rescheduling a Session. Mentees may reschedule a Session through their personal dashboard up until 24 hours prior to the start time of the relevant Session. Reschedules within 24 hours’ notice may not be enabled on the dashboard and, in this case, any monies paid in relation to the relevant Session will be non-refundable.
Cancelling a Session. The Mentee may cancel a Session for any reason (by notifying us by e-mail), and be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid, if such cancellation is made up until 24 hours before the start time of the relevant Session.
If a Mentee does not attend a Session nor reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice, this Session will be counted as delivered and any monies paid will be non-refundable. In no event may you send someone else to attend a booked Session on your behalf as this would require you sharing your account details with that other person.
What if a Mentor cancels a Session (or doesn’t show up). Mentees will be notified by e-mail about the cancellation of a Session by a Mentor (where possible) and receive a full refund for any monies paid for the relevant Session. No supplemental compensatory amounts will be due (neither by us nor the Mentor) for that cancellation.
- Complaints
Unsatisfied Mentees may register a complaint with us (by notifying us by e-mail) regarding a Session they have undertaken on the Website within 48 hours from the termination of the relevant Session. We place a significant emphasis on feedback and view Mentees’ complaints as valuable tool for us to improve the quality of our services. All complaints will be treated seriously and will be assessed by our team internally in a prompt and reasonable way.
After drawing our conclusions about the plausibility of a complaint, the Mentee will receive by e-mail a response with our judgement on whether a refund will be payable (or not) in relation to a Session in question. Please bear in mind that refunds will be available solely for complaints submitted to us within 48 hours from the termination of the relevant Session. We appreciate feedback submitted afterwards, but in this case we will no longer be able to provide refunds as very likely at this point in time our payment processor will have already passed any monies paid to the relevant Mentor, in which case we will no longer be able to claim this back.
- Prices and Payment
Fees for Mentees
Prior to listing a Mentor on the Website, we agree with them flat-fees payable for their Sessions (Fees) that will be charged from Mentees.
Applicable Fees will be displayed on the Website and shall be paid upfront in US dollars. Mentees will only receive a Booking Confirmation e-mail from us in respect of a Booking Request after their payment has been successfully processed by Stripe Inc. (Stripe), a third-party payment processor we partner with.
Stripe helps us to manage your payments once you place a Booking Request on the Website. It will be responsible for the collection, processing and storage of personal information about you (including your credit card details) for the payment processing above explained. By agreeing to these Terms and using our Services, you acknowledge and agree that you will be subject to the Stripe Services Agreement – United Kingdom and, in respect to the processing of your personal data, to Stripe Privacy Policy.
It is your responsibility to provide us (or our third-party payment processor, where applicable) with complete, accurate and up to date information about you, including e-mail address and credit card details, so that your payments are processed successfully.
We reserve the right to change Fees at any time, and any such updates will be displayed on the Website. Fees updates will not affect any bookings made prior to the effective date of the relevant change as posted on the Website.
Any direct or indirect exchange of money between Mentors and Mentees other than payments through the Website will constitute a violation to these Terms.

Fees for Mentors
Mentors are required to create a personal account with Stripe for payment processing purpose.
In consideration for the use of the Website as a venue for Mentors to share their knowledge with Mentees, Mentors will be charged the percentage of 10% (Commission) which Stripe will withdraw from monies remitted to them. Other fees in connection with Stripe’s services, including foreign currency exchanges, may also apply. By agreeing to these Terms, Mentors agree to be subject to Stripe Services Agreement – United Kingdom and acknowledge their understating of it.
Stripe is responsible for collecting the applicable Fees from Mentees and passing the relevant monies to Mentors (after deduction of the Commission owned to Macro Mentors) within 8 days.
As a Mentor, you acknowledge that payments in connection with a delivered Session will be made no earlier than 8 days following the day of the Session. We reserve the right to instruct Stripe to hold on any remittances to you in case we receive a complaint from a Mentee within 48 hours after the start time of a delivered Session, that in our sole discretion sounds reasonable, in which case we may determine that applicable Fees for this Session will no longer be due (and the relevant Mentee will be entitled to a refund for monies paid).
In case of changes to our Commission or methods of payment, we will notify you in writing prior to effecting any changes.
